“Stavanger never felt so grey before…” Aske and Håp, two young, local emo / screamo bands are said to be “improbably sad”. While we do believe we have evidence to the contrary, their music remains uncompromising and despair seeps through every crack. The bands share a drummer and also shared a cassette release on Listen to Aylin Records, who had this to say: “two new emo/screamo acts from Stavanger. Having grown up there, I have never up untill today heard any bands play screamo and sing in our dialect before. So naturally, this feels pretty huge to me. Aske delivers two really epic emotional 90s-inspired screamo songs, while HÅP gives us 4 songs in 4 minutes and have a more emo violence / euro-skramz sound going on. Both bands show tremendous potential with these songs, and we’re really proud to be a part of releasing them.” The split tape is limited to 50 copies in hand-sewn pouches and got rave reviews in Norwegian punk fanzine Svart Samtid!
