Welcome to Lamaland!
Lama was created by young Nils Martin Larsen (ex jaga jazzist), a multi-musician based in Oslo. A rock orhestra extraordinaire with references all over the place. With 6 people on stage, more instruments than anyone can carry, fantastic light designs and the energy of 10 Lama live is quite the experience.
Lama had their live-debut as a band March 5th 2008 for a packed club Blå in Oslo. The following day they were booked for the reputable Øya festival, and went on to play a number of shows in Norway for increasingly extatic audiences.
In January 09 the first record called ”Guidebook to Lamaland” was released through Spoon Train Audio to kind words from the critics. A more electronic album that was recorded in 2006 by Nils Martin alone and that was meant as an introduction to Lamaland. Two weeks later the band got back in the saddle and recorded their second album due to be released in September, with a single-release in April.
This time the huge, epic rock sound of the live shows was documented in an album that will blow your speakers through the wall and into your neighbours appartment.
With references to Sigur Rós, Motorpsycho, Mew and Mogwai – Lama is loud, intense, beutiful, melodic and full of energy.
