The Shock! (NO)
Thursday Sep. 16 – Tou scene 1 at 24:00
The Shock! managed to win the local Zoom finals, play at Bylarm (Norway’s SXSW) and be voted the weeks undreground hit at NRK P3 before anyone had the chance to know of their existence.
Their dubut single Fuck art, Let’s Kill fits a single statement, both musically and astheticaly: Feisty, dogged and dark garage rock drawing influences from the likes of Velvet Underground, Joy Division and Depeche Mode.
Ages have passed since I last saw such a tight quartet of musicians, and I’ll eat my sixpence if this act’s not breaking down a few doors anytime soon.
“The Shock! have delivered a few legendary concerts since 2006. They played Bylarm in 2008, they’re rising like a flood, they own the stage and they present a sharp mix of postpunk, noise and hypnotic melodies.”
